Her Work
Rylee Hescock is a fourth-year student at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington β majoring in Chemistry with a minor in Criminology. She brings a strong scientific foundation built across two institutions: an Associate's degree in Chemistry from Rogue Community College (Alpha Zeta Pi member), followed by transfer to Gonzaga University where she continues her undergraduate studies toward graduation in May 2027.
Her academic work combines the analytical rigour of chemistry with the investigative framework of criminology β mapping directly onto forensic science practice. She is currently enrolled in a forensic science course and has completed a biology research lab applying DNA characterisation techniques β the molecular biology skillset that underpins modern forensic DNA analysis, identity determination, and trace evidence interpretation.
Upon graduation, Rylee plans to enter the field of forensic science β bringing her chemistry expertise, criminology grounding, and laboratory experience into investigative and analytical forensic practice.
Academic Interests
Chemistry & Analytical Science
BA in Chemistry at Gonzaga University, building on an Associate's in Chemistry from Rogue Community College β developing the analytical skills and laboratory technique that form the backbone of forensic chemical analysis.
DNA Characterisation
Completed a biology research lab applying DNA characterisation techniques β gaining hands-on experience in the molecular biology methodologies underpinning forensic DNA profiling and trace evidence analysis.
Forensic Science
Currently enrolled in forensic science coursework at Gonzaga University β developing the investigative framework and scientific methodology to apply chemistry and biology in criminal investigation and evidence analysis.
Criminology
Minor in Criminology β building understanding of criminal behaviour, the criminal justice system, and the social and legal contexts in which forensic science operates as a tool of investigation and prosecution.
