Her Work
Heather Grant is one of the United Kingdom's experienced forensic science practitioners โ with nearly a decade at Cellmark Forensic Services, one of the UK's foremost independent forensic science providers, where she progressed from examination forensic scientist to reporting forensic scientist. Her speciality throughout has been DNA analysis and biological fluids interpretation โ some of the most evidentially significant disciplines in forensic science practice.
A court-experienced expert witness, Heather has given expert testimony many times across criminal proceedings โ translating complex scientific findings into clear, reliable evidence for judges and juries. That ability to communicate forensic science precisely and accessibly now defines her work in a second capacity: as a Lecturer in Forensic Science at the University of Lincoln, where she teaches the next generation of forensic scientists.
Crucially, Heather maintains active practice alongside her academic role โ continuing to work on defence cases for the criminal justice system. This dual commitment to education and active casework keeps her teaching grounded in the realities of forensic practice and ensures her students learn from someone still working at the sharp end of the field.
